Coinbase to educate users on policies held by local politicians with new app integration
Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO and Co-Founder, announced that the company would integrate crypto policy efforts into its app on September 14. He claims that this will allow the company’s 103,000,000 verified users to see where their representatives and local politicians stand on cryptocurrency.

Coinbase will use some data from CryptoActionNetwork, a 501(c),(4) organization that promotes the growth and security cryptocurrency. Coinbase will use the CryptoActionNetwork scorecard that grades congressmen on their crypto policy based on publicly recorded statements and actions. The system of grading ranges from “A-F”.
The CEO tweeted that Coinbase app users would be able to view the positions of Congress members on crypto policy. They can also register to vote, and keep up-to-date with local town hall events. He also spoke out about the company’s plans for expanding geographical coverage and adding relevant data to candidate profiles.
This will allow pro-crypto candidates to solicit donations from crypto community members (in crypto),” said the CEO. He also added:
Coinbase will play its part in supporting crypto advocacy, which is crucial for our mission to increase economic freedom around the world. The crypto community is larger than Coinbase. We can all unite to engage elected officials and promote sensible policies.
This CEO announcement comes less than one month after Faryar Shirzad (CPO at Coinbase) shared this tweet:
“The November election will determine which leaders make critical decisions about crypto, blockchain and web3’s future – and your economic freedom.”
